Michael Landy: Saints Alive

Michael Landy: Saints Alive at national gallery Until Sun Nov 24
one of my favorite artist right now.

AMERICAN PSYCHO at ALMEIDA THEATRE

Music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis.

Living the high life in 1980s Manhattan, Patrick Bateman has it all – looks, money, style and status. He and his entourage buy the most expensive designer clothes, eat at the most exclusive restaurants and party at the hottest clubs. But privately, Patrick indulges in another kind of transgression.
And people - including those closest to him - keep disappearing.

PEACE CAMP_ London Art

London 2012 Festival event on the North Coast.
Is a dreamy and magical experience and one of the arts events of the year where a striking series of illuminations will highlight some of the Britain's remote coasts!
This "coastal installation" is a celebration of   love, poetry and landscape.
The installation will allow visitors to wander among hundreds of tents, listening to a “soundscape” made up of poems spoken in different dialects.

London 2012 Festival: Peace Camp to light up UK coastline for London 2012

A year of my life traveling around the world!

I thought it was just a strange desire for freedom, is hard  to leave London, even for a year,
but when your dream is to look out the window every day, you realize that there really is so much to see!
And then India, Belfast, Milan and Rome, Greece and Turkey, where I had never been.
Not just for the curiosity of "the tourist and biting flies" as for the curiosity to understand attitudes of cultures different from my own.
I feel much happier just for this.
Life is simple and You can find ideas everywhere, enjoy the world as it is!

Not surprisingly, the book by Paul Smith

"You Can Find Inspiration in Everything,

and if you can't, look again"

is one of my favorites!
Republished recently in the library.

DOLCE&GABBANA BLOGGER WINDOW. DRESS ME UP!

Last night  we began the evening at the Dolce&Gabbana store, in Bond Street.
A group of cool bloggers, Sasha Wilkins, Bip LingMarian Kihogo, Carrie Harwood, Lois Waller and Maddison Rothery  participated in the Dress Me Up event play window dressers for the night.
They're going around the store to picking up favorites clothes and accessories to cover their personal style, then decorating the glass with white pen with doodles and messages.
So you can go to the store and choose your favorite looks from the bloggers.
(will be displayed for a week..no more times!).
Inside a real party, music, sicily food as great arancini and crochete, good wine and drinks and cool people.
The "Dress me up" tour started in Milan during the fashion week AW2011 where Bryan Boy was the King to dress up their window using the wealth of clothes and accessories available in store tand accessories
Great idea from the fashion duo Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce!
They embraced bloggers since 2009 starting to  invite Bryan Boy and Scott Schumann to live-publish from the front row of the show.

Peter Marino's Private Collection of Bronzes

Peter Marino show his private collection of bronze sculptures to the public at London’s Wallace Collection.
Peter Marino is one of the most famous architect into luxury fashion system. Andy Warhol and Yves St Laurent were amongst his first clients, when he founded his architectural practice in 1978 ,friendship with Warhol furthered Marino’s interest in art collecting, a passion he has been able to develop both whilst sourcing artworks for domestic and corporate clients and through his work for international museums. Marino’s collection now ranges from important French porcelain to contemporary painting and, over the last twenty years, he has acquired the thirty French and Italian sculptures dating from 1550 to 1750 that will go on show at the Wallace Collection.
The fascination for bronzes, which Marino describes as the most ‘challenging’ part of his collection, is reflected in works that show the gamut of human experience, from Samson and the Philistine, attributed to Baccio Bandinelli, to Antonio Montauti's seductive Diana. Highlights of the exhibition include: the French sculptor Corneille van Clève’s masterpiece Bacchus and Ariadne; two magnificent figurative groups by the Florentine sculptor Giovanni Battista Foggini, Apollo and Marsyas and David and Goliath; Ferdinando Tacca’s Hercules and Iole; Robert Le Lorrain’s Andromeda; and a pair of superb High Baroque vases, decorated with scenes from Roman history. A small number of loans from British collections will complement and enhance the display.

Christoph Warrack Founder of The Open Cinema

The Open Cinema every week introduces a film with relative director to London homeless.
Christoph Warrack is the founder of Open Cinema , an organization that every week shows a film to an audience of homeless people . The initiative was born four years ago in Soho, where Christoph has his office - in a room of St. Patrick's church, just a couple of blocks from Bar Italia - but it soon expanded.

Between May and October, clubs will open in cities including Bristol and Newcastle-upon-Tyne as part of a six-month pilot, which will see nine more clubs open in England along with a change of name for the network to Open Cinema in a move to reposition the art form as a more audience-led, participatory, community function. The success is due to the fact that screenings are introduced by important characters from the cinema world. Film-makers Stephen Frears, Mike Leigh and Ken Loach all introduced their own films and the same goes for such actors as Rupert Graves or composers as Dario Marianelli. In fact now is one of the most interesting events and not to be missed in London.
